  • Ensuring that high accuracy levels as per warehouse guidelines are observed at all times.
  • Ensuring that all training required is attended and relevant credits are obtained.

Main Objectives

Primary mandate of the SARB

Section 224 of the Constitution of South Africa states the mandate of the SARB as follows:

The primary object of the South African Reserve Bank is to protect the value of the currency in the interest of balanced and sustainable economic growth in the Republic.

The South African Reserve Bank, in support of its primary objective, must perform its functions independently and without fear, favour or prejudice.

 



WHAT WE DO

Monetary Policy

The Constitution gives the SARB the mandate to protect the value of the rand. We use interest rates to keep inflation low and steady.

Financial Stability

The SARB has a mandate to protect and enhance financial stability. We identify and mitigate systemic risks that might disrupt the financial system.

 

 



Prudential Regulation

The Prudential Authority regulates financial institutions and market infrastructures to promote and enhance their safety and soundness, and support financial stability.

Financial Markets

Open market operations are the main tool we use to implement monetary policy. We manage South Africa’s gold and foreign exchange reserves.

 



Financial Surveillance

The SARB is responsible for regulating cross-border transactions, preventing the abuse of the financial system and supporting the regulation of financial institutions.

Payments and Settlements

The SARB is responsible for ensuring the safety and soundness of the national payment system, which is the backbone of South Africa’s modern financial system.

 

 



Statistics

The SARB provides important economic and financial statistics that present an overview of the economic situation in South Africa.

Research

Research conducted by the SARB focuses on economics, financial stability, banking and emerging trends in finance. Our research supports policy decision-making

Banknotes and Coin

The SARB has the sole right to make, issue and destroy banknotes and coin in South Africa.

 



ABOUT THE TEAM

Group Security Management Department (GSMD)

The Group Security Management Department comprises of the following three divisions:

Function

To provide a security risk service for the group in terms of personnel security vetting, risk and threat analysis as well as other specialized areas pertaining to information security and countermeasures;

To provide security execution commensurate with the security risk through the provision of a robust and resilient physical protection system for the SARB Group in compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures;

To develop and implement a security governance framework for the Group;

To provide a security system including the Firearms Management function and to provide quality driven ETD solutions that meet the security training needs of the Group;

To monitor implementation and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and to provide administrative support and project management for the department; and

To provide Human Resources services, advice and leadership to the department.

      The Centre for Child Law, based at the University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Law, is a child rights strategic litigation organisation registered with the Legal Practice Council as a law clinic. CCL has built an enduring reputation for upholding and fulfilling children’s rights over the last 25 years through litigation, research, legal education, law reform, community engagement, and advocacy.




       

       

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

      LLB degree

      Demonstrated interest in human rights, children’s rights, and social justice work

      Strong interest in research as a component of legal work

      Good oral and written communication skills in English

      Proficiency in other South African official languages will be an advantage.

      Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

       




      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Assisting in strategic litigation cases;

      Research in support of advocacy and litigation activities;

      Conducting field research in communities;

      Drafting pleadings and legal opinions;

      Assisting in the drafting of research reports;

      Providing input into draft policies and legislation;

      Preparing documents for and appearing in court;

      Liaison with clients, counsel, and partners; and

      Representing CCL in civil society, statutory and community fora.

      • Maintenance of investor registers;

      • Full understanding of FATCA/CRS and the ability to apply FATCA/CRS classifications;

      Skills Required:

      •3+ years Transfer Agency experience; 

      • FATCA/CRS – ability to review Self Certification documents, classify accounts and understand XML reporting requirements;

      • Knowledge of Transfer Agency operational processes and its integration with AML processes;

      • AML Knowledge of local and global requirements is advantageous;

      Job Objectives

      Receiving/Inbound 

      • Ensure and oversee that the receiving of goods are done according to Volvo procedure.
      • To ensure that all parts are received accurately against documentation and within prescribed time as set by KPI standards. 
      • To timeously record all discrepancies on the GDS system when parts received are not conforming to standards and to document descriptions and part numbers. 
      • Ensure that parts are binned according to system allocations and not according to label allocations. 

       



       

      Outbound 

      • Process all customer order requests and ensure correct picking, packing and distribution of parts according to the Volvo procedures. 
      • Must at all times make sure that the system is updated after authorization. 
      • To make sure the correct parts and quantities are dispatched as per invoice. 
      • To provide an efficient and effective service to the workshop by ensuring that all Technicians receive their parts as soon as orders are processed, and parts are picked. 

       



       

      Credit Notes 

      • To ensure that credit notes are checked and signed off for processing. All credit notes to be filed in sequence and stored. 
      • To ensure that the correct procedures are followed when processing credits i.e. No electrical parts are returned etc. 

      Perpetual Stock Counts and Bin Verifications 



      • Ensuring that perpetual counts are done on a daily basis as per set quantities on the total volume of the Warehouse. 
      • To make sure a thorough investigation is done when discrepancies occur. 
      • All adjustments to be investigated and updates to be authorized before the system is updated. 

       



       

      House Keeping 

      • Ensure warehouse premises (inside/outside) always neat and tidy. 
      • Ensure parts stored correctly. 
      • Ensure all parts are binned correctly. 
      • Ensure waste collected timeously. 
      • Perimeter secure. 

      Exchange Parts 

      • Ensure parts from customer are at the agreed exchange standards (See Manual). 
      • Responsible for physical receiving & storage. 
      • Responsible for preparing supplier/core returns. 
      • Ensure that the packing and labeling of core parts be returned to PDC. 

       



       



      Health and Safety 

      • To ensure that all warehouse personnel abide by the rules and regulations set aside in the Volvo procedures regarding health and safety. 

      Qualification & Job Experience

      • Matric / Grade 12.

      • Have a good team spirit and willingness to back up other DHR staff when needed.

      Qualifications and Experience:

      • A Degree or National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Organisational Psychology or related field is required.

      Perform all Traffic Law Enforcement duties as instructed.

      Ensure no parking offences are committed and regular rotation of parking.

      Conduct a vehicle and/or foot patrol within the central business district and at beach parking areas.

      Prevent incidents through proper enforcement of by-laws and National Road Traffic act.

      Respond and report emergency situations and record in pocket book.
